From the historic Brown University to the popping Arts District, Providence, RI has everything you could need for a fun day out on the town. Here is our guide for 24 hours in Providence, RI!
7:30 AM: Start your day off at the local Kitchen – this cute and cozy restaurant is the perfect local spot to start off your day in Providence. Make sure to arrive early as the line outside can get very long, but trust us, it’s worth the wait. Everything on the menu looks delicious, but be sure to order the bacon, it’s absolutely massive and it tastes as good as it looks.
10:00 AM: Head over to the Providence Athenaeum. This beautiful old library is located in the heart of downtown Providence and is only a short walk from major attractions including Brown University and the Arts District. This three floor library has little alcoves to work or relax and enjoy the endless shelves of books that are on display. The architecture of the building is absolutely stunning and deserves a stop-off just to look inside!
12:00 PM: Visit the Arcade Mall – America’s first indoor shopping mall. The mall is filled with vintage shops, a unique coffee shop, and great places to grab a quick bite to eat. If you are looking for a great place for Instagram worthy photos, the Arcade Mall’s indoor beauty is a must stop!
1:00 PM: If you are looking for a sit down lunch, Luxe Burger Bar is the place to stop! It’s time to BYOB or Build Your Own Burger. This has to be one of the best burgers we’ve ever tried and actually came the way we ordered it! We recommend getting the onion rings as a side – they are as big as donuts and taste delicious! Finish off your meal with one of their yummy milkshakes – we recommend the Toasted Marshmallow Soft Shake.
3:00 PM: After strolling around the city after lunch, head over to TeaLuxe, Providence’s Starbucks alternative. A local hotspot for Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design students, this is a great place to re-charge and enjoy some of their awesome tea.
4:00 PM: Take a stroll back in time and explore around Brown University’s campus. The 7th oldest university should not be missed with it’s beautiful greenery and architecture.
6:00 PM: After exploring Brown’s campus, walk over to Federal Hill and grab dinner at Trattoria Zooma. They have amazing homemade pasta and many other made to order Italian options. If you want to learn more about Trattoria – check out our review here.
